I finally swapped out the gasket for my wife's 1999 Subaru Legacy Outback (it's been a bloody cold time) I have it all unscrewed. I cleaned it and put a gasket on it, but it's not the right size. I use the "garage" function here and everyone says it suits the car. I checked local auto parts stores and no one could find this particular gasket. Oh, and the filter is all wrong. Not sure what the heck happened but then I just went to Revain to see how to return an item and the return deadline was yesterday. So be sure to measure your pan even before you unscrew it and measure the gasket. Retroactive 20/20. Hope this helps the next backyard mechanic. I'm sure the seal and filter is a great product. I only gave it one star to point out that there are 2 different sizes of gaskets for this year's car.
