Review on Hooke Road Wrangler Steering Compatible by Stephen Good

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Got rid of the bumpy steering when hitting bumps/potholes.

I cleaned and lubricated the bearing when disassembling. The frame bolts (15mm nut) on my 01" TJ had bruised elbows. The jumper hacked them but expect a fight. The clamp bolt (head at 13) was also very tight. The 10mm nuts holding the bearing sticking to the old bracket are easy to unscrew with a deep nut Fairly easy job with a bunch of extensions Wellington boot that goes through the firewall most likely needs a tweak and lube while you're at it Need it? If you can shake the steering shaft with your left hand (near the firewall) while holding the steering wheel with your right hand (through an open window or door) and feel - that and/or bearing grease was the solution. I no longer feel the steering wheel when I shake the steering shaft manually and the steering wheel no longer rattles excessively when going over bumps/potholes ✌️
