I bought these as I needed something sturdier than my tennis/walking shoes, with a better grip on loose ground and lots of support! These are perfect! I didn't even need to break them in. They came with an insole, which I use and love. I would buy these again! I hike, but don't backpack, so for hiking they are perfect. I have problems with my knees and they are built well and my knees feel good when I'm walking in them! I love them!
