Lightweight but inconvenient to carry Tripod

I'm new to using spotting scopes but thought it would be nice to have one so I can identify birds in the field. Before that I had to take a picture and then go home to see what exactly it was. This section takes the guesswork out. I'm still learning how to use this scope. I like that it's light. It comes with a black canvas carry case. The case, actually a structured bag, can be opened from two sides. There is a zipper on one end which I unzipped to remove and replace the scope. At the other end there are two zippers and a Velcro fastener at the top. There's probably a reason for this design, but I haven't figured it out yet. The scope zips into the end and on the other end is the large lens. Both the lens and the viewing position have rubber caps to keep them clean when not in use. It also comes with a table tripod, which doesn't make much sense if someone wants to use this type of spotting scope outdoors. What I don't like is the cumbersome way of carrying the tripod, as it doesn't fit in the case. I put it in my backpack where it doesn't take up much space. The tripod is solid, but its strength is limited by the metal legs and there's no way to adjust the height. The only adjustment is the ability to move the visor from side to side and up and down at an angle. This probably works best in places where there might be a picnic table or similar to set up a tripod. The scope has 3 settings: 20, 40 and 60. I found it easiest to start at 20 and then go to 40 and then 60. On the right is a small round knob for fine adjustment of the lens. This spotting scope also includes a small gray lens cleaning cloth. My rating is 4 stars because I think it's a little frustrating for new users.
