We have had this type of cut in bumper on our kitchen cabinets and have had for 20 years. I am helping a friend renovate his cabinets and we installed about 60 of these cabinets using Blum soft and opted for compact hinges with covers that hide the mounting screw. The end result is a very professional job with very quiet doors. We even used a commercial finish (white undercoat) to repaint the doors.
