Okay, I admit it. It's a pair of rubber bands with clips on both ends. You can probably make your own. But for the money you can't go wrong. If you need to nail parallel boards (e.g. shelves or braces), this just comes in handy. I was just putting together some bookshelves and was surprised at how many times I broke these things. It's not that I couldn't live without them, it's just that they saved me 60 seconds every time I line up the T-square and mark a line that I would then have to either grind or erase. As I said, stupidly simple, but sometimes costs a few dollars.
