I moved this machine to another location because I needed a router badly. I really like this system, despite the shortcomings. He is strong, long-range and fast. What I didn't like is that you think you're buying one thing and another. When you buy this system think that you will get a "grid" with a daisy chain topology. When it first came out, you had a "mesh system" that used a star topology, meaning each node or satellite is connected to a router. Netgear was later updated to allow the daisy chain topology. which means that each satellite is connected to each other. With a star topology, your signal will be less attenuated than with a daisy chain because in dual-band mode, each hop or node that the signal goes to learns the signal by 50%. in tri-band mode it's closer to 10-20%. which is minimal. This way you get a stronger signal as fewer nodes can weaken the signal. (Hopefully) your router to the host. What frustrates me is that Netgear has the option to chain, but you can still star. because Netgear chooses the best path and topology for you. For my house, that's a little more than 1,600 square meters, of course. feet and camper. But my roommate built a wall to block off the living room and his room is behind another wall (original) to ensure his privacy and his sons'. I have to admit, I get the whole house in the star topology from 300 Mbit/s to 370 Mbit/s. I also get 5g at the end of my driveway at 80 to 100Mbps. so i'm happy. This router also has beam forwarding and Mimo, so that's great. Reading review after review makes me feel like I made the best choice for performance. I don't like the fact that I can't chain this thing whenever I want by flipping a switch. I heard the knots change as I move them and one day it happened and it was still great. I just like to test things for myself and let myself be the judge and not some machine. My understanding is that if you buy one of these mesh systems, get a tri-band system (like this one) that devotes an entire channel to backhaul and minimizes signal loss. (That's if you don't want to wire your nodes together) Overall I like it, I'm not rich anymore so I don't have a 3000 square foot home, but from what I've heard it's very good in that vein Vicinity. I like it very much for my purposes. it is reliable, fast and powerful.
