I don't know why NordicWare couldn't take a page from a Tupperware or Rubbermaid book and make durable plastic that can be washed in the dishwasher and cleaned with a knife, but at least this bread stand fits perfectly and does the job. Just make sure you use non-stick, soft knives or spatulas when slicing, as the plastic seems to damage easily (I haven't damaged mine yet, so feel free to keep it nice). Was shopping and got this one because there just wasn't any other cake holder in the same size (early 2020 at least). I hand wash this and use a baby safe knife and it looks great for displaying decorative NordicWare bread cakes. (I bought a red one, there is also a white one.)
