This product is not an OEM part, I can't tell if it would last longer or not. Both of these pads lasted about 5 minutes before the mill went out of balance. The pad is held in place by four rough screws that go into the plastic and I didn't want to over tighten it. The first shoe was out of balance so I removed the shoe, reinstalled it and tightened the screws. The grinder made an unexpected noise when I turned it back on. I thought I overtightened the first gasket, so I put the second gasket on very carefully to make sure the screws were holding it evenly. It didn't take long for it to lose its balance again. The bearing cap and the bearing retainer, both plastic parts, were also destroyed in the process. $5 for parts and $10 shipping plus $20 for those gaskets makes a $35 mess. It appears to be poor design by Dewalt. I just ordered an OEM pad, wish me luck. volume
