Don't Know How a Surgeon Could Call These Good Quality

WoW! And a surgeon calls these good quality? Don't want to get operated on where he last operated. From reading the reviews, there is apparently a wide span of qualities received by Buyers. If they are in fact POT METAL as one buyers states, they are completely worthless as the brittleness of pot metal makes them unsuitable for any tool use. And yes, I have seen lots of so called stainless steel that is just chrome plated pot metal. Looks nice but breaks fast. Pot metal has a crystalline structure, has a low melting point, cannot be used for strong grasping, and cannot be repaired. With respect to the tools, the curved one I can use for the time that it lasts. It opens and closes properly and the teeth are properly aligned to permit locking. The jaws are of different thickness but that is OK for my purposes. The rivet that holds each half together is tiny, about 1/16 of an inch, and this is pretty small. My tiny sewing scissors have a screw that is twice this diameter. Hope this holds up for awhile. Can't tell what is made of or how strong it is. Don't want to test it an break them now before I can even use it once. The straight hemostat is straight off to the trash. The teeth are so poorly aligned that they "pop open" at the slightest movement - as sensitive as the locking mechanism on a spring mouse trap. This completely defeats the purpose of a hemostat which should lock onto the desired object until you release it. The matching ratchet pieces are also shorter than on the curved hemostat and is part of the problem - poor machine design at the beginning of the manufacturing process. So I bought 2 hemostats and end up with one that I can use. I should send them back but won't. I would not buy them again and would recommend that others buy a better quality hemostat if you are planning on actually using it to do something.Summary word for Product: JUNK

Pros
  • Precise tip design capable of reaching tight spaces
Cons
  • The tips are not aligned correctly, which may cause an accidental slip
