Review on Apex DT250A Digital Converter Passthrough by Corey Krull

WARNING: APEX DT250A untrustworthy

This unit was purchased from ECV Plus Inc to have a backup on hand should the Apex DT250A connected to my TV fail immediately. I say "inevitable" because I've tried nine models of this model since broadcasters went digital, and each of them lasted less than a year before failing. The old unit failed earlier this week. I opened up the new device ("Condition: New - BRAND NEW SEALED" as stated in the product description) and connected it to the TV, and. Nothing. No picture or sound. The device does not respond to the supplied remote control. Attempts to connect the device to another TV. Same result. Completely new, out of the box. this unit is useless. I would blame the supplier, but I'm inclined to think that the fault should lie with the manufacturer. It's outdated technology, but it's no excuse for poor manufacturing. That's the last straw. My loyalty to the Apex brand has ended. I will look elsewhere for my digitizer needs.
