Aside from the fact that the SSD is only M.2 SATA and not NVMe (which is a shame - half the speed), the M.2 drive I bought is capable of read speeds of >500 Mbit/s and thanks to this device it only receives about 320 MB. Not ideal if you want to use it to edit 4K videos from the device's hard drive. I use my Sandisc Extreme Portable SSD for this. I also tried using the front SD card reader port to upload footage from my Canon as well as the SD card from my Rodecaster Pro, but neither showed up. I was trying to use an external reader via one of the front USB ports and it took almost a minute for the device to be recognized on my Mac and the transfer speed was incredibly slow... Now I need to read footage and podcasts via native USB C stream my mac , essentially rendering these ports useless, and the built-in drive is only good for archiving or maybe backing up a time machine. I hope they make a better version that supports NMVe and has better functionality in general. I like the products of this company, but in my opinion it was a failure.
