I like the 12-24 hour clock and the ability to set a 24 hour alarm. I like the memory function and 3 modes. Right after I got the Marathon, I removed the magnet and pulled out the metal clip. I wanted to use the timer as a desktop timer, so I didn't need the magnet, and I was afraid that the magnet might erase memory on almost electronic devices like a cell. Phone. I would advise you to sell the model without the magnet. Memory allows you to enter hours, minutes and seconds and then press the memory button. Then you press the start button and this time the countdown and alarm starts. The display will now clear and show 000. Press the memory button to view the previous time. Press the clear button to clear the saved time. You can now enter a new memory time and save it by pressing the memory button. I like the small size. The raised buttons are very handy as I can turn off the timer in the dark by feeling the buttons. The alarm clock is loud. I bought a few more timers afterwards because this one was sold out. I didn't like these other timers because they were bigger, the buttons were shallow and not as comfortable to use. As soon as they became available again, I bought a second marathon timer of the same type. Marathon should offer one without a magnet. just a flat top model like most other timers not on the market. The Marathon is small enough to fit in your pocket without a magnet.
