After my jet ski, charger and boat lift circuits were SERIOUSLY damaged by a direct lightning strike on my pier I installed this unit to provide both surge protection and smart operation. I installed and configured it in 20 minutes and have full control with the Smart Things phone app (IFTTT integration no longer exists). Smart Life allows me to automatically turn off all or some outlets when a local downpour is approaching, and then another procedure turns on the outlets I use again at 4:00 a.m. daily (like battery chargers). Damn handy device for the price. !
