McGard wheel locks for 1/2"-20 nuts (24130). These McGard nuts are typically used on Ford vehicles with 1/2"-20 wheel studs, typically a 13/16" socket is used to remove/install standard nuts and it is the same as for McGard wrenches. McGard union nuts have a lustrous triple plated chrome finish that shines like a mirror and looks very strong. However, the McGard key doesn't feel as strong. The yield strength of the key template seems to be below average. I've already noticed some stress marks on the parts of the key that "squeeze" the pattern on the nuts. Although the wheel locks may have a lifetime warranty, I doubt the key will last that long. Installation was very easy and they match the rest of Ford alloy wheel nuts almost perfectly: slows wheel theft, aesthetically pleasing (shiny), easy to fit and inexpensive. Cons: The key seems to be the weakest link. If you lose the key and need to replace the wheel, you need to call the workshop or order a new key. Don't lose and don't lose the key! Many owners have complained that wheel locks are only used to hinder the rightful owner of the wheels. Overall: This is the most economical way to install OEM wheel locks on Fords. Ford wants this kit 2-3 times the price at the dealer, but it is the same product made by the same company.
