Probably great. - Wheel accessories and parts

These are probably great wheel nuts but the key is not the one shown in the pictures. I only needed the key as mine was worn out. There was a 5 sided symmetrical flower in the pictures, this is not the one. Came back and contacted McGard direct for a replacement key which was sent for half the cost of this set.

Pros
  • Set of 4 locks and 1 key
Cons
  • No power

Fits my 2013 Ford Edge

When using the Revain installation guide for the 2013 Ford Edge it mimics the McGard installation guide. Both tell you that the only option is 24010. But that's for the open tab under the cap. My SE comes with 17" factory alloy wheels with exposed chrome nuts. 24130 has the same thread specifications but is designed for open applications. They are fitted correctly and look great.

Pros
  • Installation Type: Vehicle Specific
Cons
  • Not bad, but...

Much lower quality than my previous McGard wheel locks. The internal threads were VERY rusty. I had to clean them with a faucet and a parts washer before they could be installed. Combined manufacturing defect and possibly improper storage (besides aggressive environment such as industrial complex/chemical plant) Very disappointed The completion time exceeded the acquisition cost of the product.

Pros
  • Overall length 1.46 inches
Cons
  • Security

Seller please read!

I'm not sure if it's my fault or not but my key to the locks broke. I've been trying to find torque specs for locks only but to no avail, it should have some info like this, now I either have to guarantee it or buy another kit. I wish someone at McGard had an easier way to contact her. But the product itself felt very good, ran very smoothly over my large hubs (I would say make sure the thread pitch is correct and you don't have rusty or damaged threads on your bolts because they seem perfectly

Pros
  • Hex size 3/4" and 13/16"
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

OEM 1/2 "-20 stud wheel locks

McGard wheel locks for 1/2"-20 nuts (24130). These McGard nuts are typically used on Ford vehicles with 1/2"-20 wheel studs, typically a 13/16" socket is used to remove/install standard nuts and it is the same as for McGard wrenches. McGard union nuts have a lustrous triple plated chrome finish that shines like a mirror and looks very strong. However, the McGard key doesn't feel as strong. The yield strength of the key template seems to be below average. I've already noticed some stress marks…

Pros
  • Cone seat wheel locks
Cons
  • Upgradeable
