This is a great lens. Robust construction, extremely smooth focus ring and incredible sharpness. Things to note before you buy: This is MANUAL FOCUS ONLY, MANUAL IRIS ONLY, and it has NO chip (no metadata or help with focusing). With this lens, it's important to understand that it lacks easy-to-use features. This lens balances sharpness and detail IF USED CORRECTLY. It seems that the money Samyang saved on this lens, aside from autofocus, image stabilization, a chip or a focus-assist element, was instead spent on giving the user the best optics in terms of sharpness, contrast and colorless reproduction , speeds (f/2.8 lets in plenty of light), minimal distortion (for a 10mm non-fisheye lens), and minimal vignetting. With easy-to-use features for under $1,000, this is the lens for you. My photo attached to this review (taken with a Canon T6i/750D) was only slightly tweaked in Lightroom to bring the shadows up and the highlights down a bit. No lens correction was applied, although a profile for that lens was available in Lightroom CC if I later apply corrections to my shots.
