Review on 🚘 TYC 800023P2 Mazda Cabin Air Filter Replacement by Bryan Reynolds

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Difficult to install but will save you a trip to the dealer

These filters seem to be working fine in my Mazda 5 Van. The big problem is that Mazda placed them under the dashboard on the passenger side of the car. You literally have to be a body acrobat to change them. I've found some decent videos showing how to do it, but it's extremely fiddly to get to the right place and install them. You kind of have to reach over your head, lying on your side halfway in and out of the door, and then blindly loosen the screws and pull out the old filters. You then have to reverse blindly to insert the new filters, but it's difficult to hold the first one over your head with one hand while trying to insert the second in the bottom slot of the first with the other hand, then blindly switch the screws - all while maintaining those very uncomfortable body and hand positions. But it saved me from a costly trip to the dealer. I just won't change them again anytime soon!

Pros
  • Easy to install on most vehicles in 7 minutes; Installation instructions are included with each unit
Cons
  • Something is wrong
