Love this carrier. I have had the Celltei backpack for 16 years. Stored in garage when not driven. It collapsed and began breaking almost immediately. It was $150 so I babysat him for many years. This design is brilliant. It collapses when not in use for storage. My bird can see through all of this, not just the windows, and when I want him to sleep I just throw a towel or blanket over the carrier. There has been a lot of talk about a protective coating that prevents the media from getting scratched. I simply took a pair of pointed tweezers and ran them around the edges, then used tweezers to separate and pull the edge. Voila! The whole thing took about 3 minutes. And no smell. I love my new carrier! By the way, my bird doesn't like it as much as I do, but he didn't like the other carrier either!
