Good. where to start I installed them on my 2009 Chevy Silverado. The toothing depth was set correctly and the wear pattern was perfect. Rear wheel clearance and preload are also correct. Filled up with oil and drove off. I didn't drive a mile and turned around because of the loud noise of the gears. I can deal with some noise but they were loud. Took everything apart thinking I had the wrong load on the gearbox mount. Everything looked fine. I knocked out the clips and bought new transmission mounts thinking it might be my problem. Shredded the jack and set everything up. I checked my wear pattern again after setting the game and it was set well. I drove it and it's still noisy. Right now I think I installed it wrong. Called my buddy (GM certified) and he helped me take it apart. He inspected all the bearings and wear samples and confirmed that everything looked fine. He removed the gear and measured the old shims against the new ones I installed to check preload. He then recommended that I use the original gearbox mount instead of the Toyo mount that I just installed. We took a bearing and had to replace the gear spacer to accommodate another bearing (thank god there's a cheap port freight press). All set and go. More loud! I drove the truck for a "burglary" and stopped to let it cool down, thinking that would eliminate the noise. When I stopped I checked the differential temp and it came in at 128F on a 100 degree day. When it cooled down I drove and it's still noisy. Came home and checked the temperature. Read 125 F. Not bad at all. I called Yukon Gear, which makes standard gear in the US, and told them about my problem. He referred me to his tech and he said the US gears have a known noise problem on the 07-13 Silverados? Did he say that 2009 and up were worse due to the different gearbox mount size? He told me to ask the supplier for a refund. I ordered a set of GM 3.73 gears (expensive!) and called Revine. Revane was very accommodating and accepted the return request. After receiving my GM gears, I installed them and packed them back into Revain. New GM gears make no noise. My factory 3.23 gear made the same noise. Nothing! Funny how I was so tired of working on the rear that I wasn't thrilled with the play setting of the GM cogs (still within spec) and they compare to the straight for the money I had for the US , made no noise. Transmission. But I will say it. If I had a car that I rarely drive, or an SUV, I would use standard US transmissions. Although they were very noisy, they didn't get hot. For everyday traffic, like my case. I would not recommend these. I do not know. Maybe I didn't do enough homework and these gears aren't meant for my application. I don't know and I don't care lol. It's ready now. Decided to share my experience.
