Review on Bilstein 24 011402 Absorber Supersedes F4 B46 1140 H2 by Jonathan Sanders

This is not a product review, it is a review of the condition the product was in when you received it. The product itself was incredibly well made and engineered. I received these shock absorbers about a month ago for an order I placed about 3 months ago. This was as expected and a good thing as I knew I wouldn't have time to install them on my truck for a while. They arrived in two brown Amazon boxes and since I still didn't have time to install them when they arrived they went unopened for about 30 days. When I finally got around to installing them, I opened the brown boxes to see what I had received. Inside each box was a Bilstein works box with individual shock absorbers. The first box was factory sealed and looked fine. The second box was obviously mishandled and I felt like they had been repackaged and sent back a day before. Upon opening the box I found that the shock inside appeared to be in good condition. it was. and then the problems started. This shock was missing parts that were in the undamaged packaging (and, as confirmed by Autozone, parts that should have been in this shock), namely bushings and washers. Annoying as it turned out to be quite difficult to get these jacks. but the fun doesn't end there. A closer look at the details makes it clear that the damaged box contained the wrong shock absorber! It looks the same as the one I ordered, but it is clear that the product codes are different (the one I ordered: 24-011402, the one I received: 24-011401). The return period has expired so this part is my bad but that is not acceptable by Amazon.
