This is a quality router with good performance in a large area with lots of brick walls. I'm getting a 3-bar signal 100 feet from the router through two 5-inch brick walls in a 120-year-old building. The AC protocol makes this a good fit for present and next-gen wireless devices. Good bandwidth - multiple devices were connected for video streaming. without any visible delays. (YMMV, ISP dependent.) Setup was as expected. A good range of features and firmware updates are available on the manufacturer's website. I do not recommend this product for beginners to set up. But it's a great device for a home or even a small business. If you're one of those customers but not an IT pro, hire one to set it up nicely. That is not enough. If necessary, you can add a stronger firewall to your network. The ASUS router already supports wireless disconnection with different SSID configurations, which can help you secure the guest connection while protecting your data. a launch due to configuration limitations when adding range extenders. ASUS requires that repeaters have their own SSID, even when basic network connectivity is in place (WiFi can be configured to keep connected devices connected to the strongest signal while moving within coverage, despite the original SSID connection). Thanks to the dual-band capabilities of the ASUS router and range extender (RP-AC56, I have 2 of those) I now have 6 guest SSIDs on the same network. I almost understand the need for separate SSIDs for the two bands, but the lack of SSID name impersonation on extenders is confusing. Incidentally, I add another 80 feet (3 bar of force) at each end of my WiFi field with repeaters. It also comes in black, but there are no range extenders. White isn't my favorite color for networking gear, but it is what it is.
