These heavy glass weights are the ideal size for use in wide mouth glass jars to keep fermenting vegetables or fruit below the brine level to prevent spoilage. What makes them unique and more convenient than others I've had is that they have a little handle that you can grab to take them out of the jar that's built right into the jar. The others I have don't have a grip to get them out of the jar and you often have to dig with your fingers or a knife to get it out of the jar. Their diameter is pretty much the size of a wide mouth opening, so grabbing them with your fingers or an object to pull them out can be a problem. the top of the glass and a small, cylindrical, fluted glass handle that can be grasped to pull out the load. Much easier than others. Highly recommended.
