I'm pretty picky, and while this speaker doesn't compare to the $4,000 audio system in my living room, the sound quality is excellent. A shower speaker for less than $20. I prefer quality over quantity, but despite this, this speaker has more than enough sound for me. Maybe not for the fans. [Updated May 27, 2020] The sound is still great for the price (as stated in the first paragraph of my original post above). But the Bluetooth is still weak, like a sucker. If the speaker and Bluetooth source are more than a few meters apart and you walk between them, or if the distance between them is more than 3 meters, the speaker will break. I'm lucky enough to use it in the shower and my phone and speaker are only 5 feet apart and since I'm in the shower I don't stand between them. As for the sucker, it's a joke. . You need to stick every day, maybe two, otherwise it will peel off the wall. They must contain a large suction cup. Luckily I had a large suction cup from my old speaker (about 3 inches in diameter). I just have to tape it up every few weeks to keep it from falling off the wall. Did I mention in my original post. I didn't like the layout of the controls. I still don't like them, but it's pretty easy to get used to the touch controls after a few weeks. [Original post] Where does this speaker fall? I was disappointed that the suction cup didn't attach directly to the back of the speaker like it did on my previous shower speakers. Instead, you hang it by a suction cup cord. I'm willing to make adjustments because it sounds so good. The real downside of this speaker is its Bluetooth connectivity. The problem is that it doesn't connect, it's quick and easy. The problem is range or no range. I use over a dozen Bluetooth devices that are regularly turned on - my watch, other phones, other speakers, headphones, PC, car connections, etc. All work fine within the standard Bluetooth range of 30 feet or more. That speaker? Not as much. When I took the speaker and phone into the bedroom after the shower, they were about 12 feet apart. Worked fine until I went between them. Immediately began to separate. Did some testing and the audio cuts out when the source and speaker are about 18 feet apart. WTF? I bought this speaker for the shower and my phone is only a few feet away so it's not a problem for my case. I'm going to leave this speaker because it sounds really good, but be aware of this limitation if you plan on using this speaker with a lot of source-to-speaker spacing. Because of this, I gave portability two stars. My other complaint is about the controls. These are small raised protrusions on the back of the speaker with no visible markings. The only sign of a feature is a raised symbol embedded in small bumps. I can live with that, but they are definitely not user friendly. I've only had this speaker for five days at the time of writing this, so I can't comment on battery life at this point. If it turns out to be too short I will update this review. Bottom line, great sound, weak Bluetooth, far from perfect control. Works for my purposes, but be aware of the limited range.
