The money cake worked out great. I used it for my mother-in-law's 80th birthday cake. I stuffed the combination of $80 and lottery tickets into my sleeve pockets. Here are a few tips - I only used 2 real lottery tickets. For other lottery tickets, I made a note on scratch pad paper (cut out to fit in my pocket) and wrote "$2 lottery ticket" and a comment like "Hack the jackpot" instead of the actual lottery ticket. This prevented the roll of money from getting too big and also some lottery tickets from being too wide to fit inside. We also wrote personal notes on notebook paper, again cut to fit in a pocket. These notes came from family members with special birthday wishes. Of course we gave real lottery tickets along with handwritten notes after the money roll surprise was done. Get creative with the money pockets on the sleeves. As long as you keep the paper strip thin as money, there are plenty of options.
