I was planning on making a custom luggage rack for my truck but after I came across these. I couldn't even buy commodities at the price they were sold for. So I bought them thinking that even if I had to rework them a bit, I would still come out cheaper than building from scratch. Received the frame in a small box, the box had minimal damage on the outside, but the sticks were not packed. more than plastic bags. So there was nothing between them and they spent the whole sea way (from the other side of the sea) fighting with each other. The paint (not powder coated like others think) was chipped and peeling all over. It was bad enough that retouching wasn't an option for me. I spent the weekend sanding the bad bits and scraping the paint off the rest, then primed/repainted the whole thing with heavier paint. The fit is universal so they are not ideal for someone who is picky. I spent about 2 hours trimming the edges to get the rack as far forward and back on the bed as possible. Now I think it looks great on the truck. None of this means the trunk is junk, it's great for the truck as is (just doesn't fit custom made) and a little touch of paint would be fine for 30ft. go to the inspection. But if you expect $400 trunk quality, you won't get it here without putting in a little time and effort. I bought this rack to carry kayaks and canoes so the weight rating didn't bother me. To my surprise the frame was thicker than I thought, usually the maximum rating for such things is questionable. I wouldn't have any qualms about putting a maximum of 650 pounds on this rack, I weigh 250 pounds and rock these things like a drunk monkey and they don't move or flex an iota. In short they are cheap (money wise) when it comes to you getting what you paid for, in terms of durability you get more than what you paid for, the style is on par and looks as good or even better than any other budget rack. If you're expecting a beautifully finished luggage rack that's easy to bolt on or customize, you'll be disappointed. If you're installing on an old work truck, just unpack the box, bolt on, and enjoy. If you're installing on a freshly polished road queen, you better be prepared to do the job I did above. I bought these with the intention of doing a bit of work on a better fit and a little cut, but the cut was more than I was hoping for. I would buy them again, I feel like I still got a good deal because I went into it with an "elbow lube required" expectation and this frame was half what I even got raw for could.
