Review on πŸ”½ AP Products CTD-5000 5 Inch Stainless Steel Turn Down Exhaust Tip by Ralph Gerry

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Fits right, easy to fit, looks good

Exactly as advertised. Easy installation with basic knowledge. This isn't rocket science. This is a tube on a tube with a clamp. But it's an exhaust pipe versus a crappy old rusty 5 inch exhaust pipe. So get ready to use your brain muscles, your hands, hands-on experience and common sense. You can do it. But don't be weak. I've read positive and negative reviews, here are a few things to keep in mind: 1. Done right, this tube is easy to put on and looks great after thousands of miles. 2. Don't try to install it on a crappy, rusty, falling apart exhaust pipe. Either cut the existing pipe down to solid metal with a hand grinder and cut-off wheel, or purchase a new muffler/exhaust. 2. Slide this pipe over the existing pipe to the full depth. 3. Measure, mark the correct depth. Clean the existing pipe. Check fit. If you can't verify the fit, you have a problem with your existing tube. Repair the existing one before attempting to press in a new one. 3. Dress properly and well. Don't rush this step. Take the right tools, tighten it well. And then 1 more. 4. Read reviews about drilling and screwing on an existing one. That was my first reaction too. But I didn't. Because the manufacturer provided a nice heavy duty clamp that worked well and the bolts/holes corrode, loosen, erode material in rain and extreme heat/cool cycles. This is a beautiful, durable and easy to install stock when properly installed. Buy with confidence.
