Review on Lees Aquarium Divider System 10 Gallon by Eric Brooks

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Really a hassle to install and breaks easily

I wanted to install this in a 55 gallon planter to separate two guppy breeds. After playing around with them for 30 minutes, I decided to just let them mix. where to start There are a number of annoying things about this divider. This reminds me of the reviewer who wrote that "this book should not be taken lightly. It should be thrown with great force." That's how I feel about this separator. Let's start with how the perforated barrier film slides into the plastic edges that touch the sides of the tank. The protective film slides in like a report cover (and folds like one cover) and the plastic edges look so much like report cover clips that I wonder if they aren't actually report cover clips. The problem is that with just a slight tug the barrier slips out of the clip.I have mounted this divider FAST 3 times and then slightly shifted the plastic edges to make them flush with the walls of the tank (takes forever. Why can't the connection points suck?) only to barely touch the barrier with a finger and it slipped out of plastic clips. And then you can no longer put the barrier back into the clip - you must remove all three pieces from the tank, each side of the B insert into the clips and start over. If this product is ever restored, the barrier must STAY in the clips after you insert it. Another big issue are the clamps that attach to the top of the tank. Difficult to keep them in place but doable, but near impossible to keep them in place AND position the plastic edges that need to be flush with the tank walls. And if you move something even just a little too far, you've simply pulled the barrier out of the side clips and can start over. I will try to glue the barrier (with silicone) to the side clips. . If it could stay, maybe I could use that delimiter.

Pros
  • Sturdy finish
Cons
  • Damaged
