I have used it for my cats.

It was relatively easy to install. Two people consult, but I had to do it alone. The only drawback is the middle space between the two front seats. I knew this which is why I bought another product that was fine - a mesh barrier to get through that room. I also had a small gap between the bottom of the seat and the side of the car so I stuck a roll of paper towels in and it worked. Remember I used it for cats. They didn't try to jump over the top at all, which bothered me. I drove it 1000 miles and the barrier worked. I have a 2018 Subaru Forester so I had a trash can in the back.
