I bought a Petsafe collar for my 9 month old Labrador puppy. She loves attention and when no one is paying attention to her, she starts barking. We also used it when she went to her cage to rest, she barked for a while trying to get someone to let her out. But as she got older, the vibrating collar wasn't strong enough. She just kept barking because the correction wasn't working for her anymore. Also, paying $7.00 to replace the batteries was ridiculous. The Petsafe Large Dog Rechargeable Bark Control Collar seems to be working so far. We only put it on when she gets nervous and wants to play rough. You need to make sure the collar is tight enough. on the dog, otherwise he will not feel the correction. The instructions say it should be snug enough to fit your finger between the collar and your neck. Trust me, when correction comes, she feels it. The first time her bark turns into a whimper and then she usually stops after a few minutes. It seems to calm her down more than anything else. Sometimes we put it on her and don't turn it on, she knows not to bark when it's wearing her. I didn't mind the whole stun collar thing at first, but after seeing it help our dog stop barking, I feel like it's humane enough for the few times we've actually used it is. Another plus is that the collar is rechargeable. You no longer need to buy replacement batteries.
