I wanted to record programs from my Firestick and needed an adapter for my Panasonic DVD recorder. I couldn't get it to work at first, which may have been my fault, but I got an HDMI splitter and that seemed to fix the problem. I didn't set the recorder to 'record' before using the splitter so I don't know if that was the problem, but using the splitter allows me to send a signal to both the TV and the Recorders to broadcast so they don't both need to be on just to be able to watch TV. The quality of the signal to the registrar is noticeably worse than the TV picture, but I expected that. I think the recorder runs at 480 and the TV at 1080p so there is a difference in sharpness, but for regular vintage displays it works quite well. It's an HDMI input and the connections are S-Video or RCA, so you know straight away there's going to be signal loss, but as I said, the picture is still viewable. Decent device for everything.
