Fantastic for the price!

Unbeatable for the money! I'm a biologist and I've used a lot of very, very expensive dissection tubes. Considering this is about 1/10th the price of a German scope, this is a phenomenal deal. The optics are sharp! The 2x objective has strong spherical aberrations, but only at the lowest magnification. The field of view is smaller than more expensive scopes. So if you're operating on large animals, this might not be the best option. If you're working with things smaller than a walnut, you're fine! Ring light is ok. Ring lights are generally not the best source of light, and this one is no exception. There are some strange reflections from flat objects. The color of the LEDs is very "bluish white", which makes them not very suitable for seeing red colors, which are important when you're performing operations on vertebrate animals (because blood is red). Those limitations aside, this is a great area! It's very well built and designed for heavy loads and the optics work great! A $2,000 range would have been better, but not by much. I use scopes professionally and will keep this scope for years!
