Review on La Roche-Posay Effaclar Purifying 🧼 Foaming Gel Cleanser: Perfect for Oily Skin! by Akemi Tsuruoka ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The best I ever used, recommend it to everybody.

A dermatologist examined my skin and determined that the oily, troublesome skin that I have requires a cleanser specifically formulated for people with my skin type. The gel is clear, viscous, lathers up nicely, and can be easily removed from the skin with water. After washing my face, I get the sensation of being clean. It is also possible to obtain feelings "to the squeak," but doing so is risky since it might lead to dryness. But, applying micellar water after cleansing can help relieve some of the irritation. Yet, there are nuances to consider: In the beginning, I employed this strategy both in the morning and in the evening. Not drying to the skin at all. But, the skin at that time was, to put it bluntly, oily and troublesome. When the skin's oiliness began to dramatically improve (and I'm not going to deny that the gel had something to do with this), I started getting the feeling that I should only be using this washing gel once a day instead of twice. The explanation for this is most likely due to the fact that the care has evolved (following the "change" in skin type). As a consequence of this, I only use it in the evening (as a deep cleansing before applying my nighttime products for problem skin), and in the morning, I use a washing gel that is gentler and comes from the product line designed for sensitive skin. The gel is of exceptionally high quality. I feel confident recommending this cleanser for oily, troubled skin as an option for cleansing.

Pros
  • Effective in cleaning while remaining cost-effective.
Cons
  • May dry skin.
