I can't tell you how many dash/air vent phone holders I've tried and thrown away. This is the answer I was looking for. Other solutions failed for two reasons: Either they didn't hold my heavy phone + case (iPhone 7+ with Lifeproof Nuud case). Or their "shutter" was too complicated to use. With that all problems are solved. First, mounting in the CD holder is much more secure than any vent-based solution. Second, the magnet is pretty strong along with the "sticky" part. Before that I had several magnetic disk failures. Third, since it's a simple magnetic plate on the back, it's very easy to use and comes naturally to me. There are problems? Not really. There are times when I can't see the clock in my car, but honestly every keeper blocks something unless it's part of the maintenance. I love it and highly recommend it.
