Although the quality was better than expected for the price, there is one obvious design flaw that other reviewers have mentioned. The pants have an adjustable waistband with an elastic cord type, which is good, but the switch is INSIDE the pants, right where the belly button would be, and it's sewn on so you can't just undo and tighten it on the outside. I think that can be very uncomfortable. The only reason my son wants to keep these pants is because I ordered a size up and he can fold down the waistband so the switch is on the outside. Once he has another growth spurt, he won't make it anymore. As others have mentioned this material is more like a windbreaker and I wonder how well it will perform in heavy rain. Similar raincoats from Columbia have a rubber-like lining.
