night vision is good. It's not great either. This corresponds to the night mode of a camcorder from the early 90's. It looks nice, it's not attached to the helmet, the zoom is manual and not very good. The main downside is that it requires three AA batteries and the instructions say not to use rechargeable lithium batteries. Standard batteries only. It has no built-in battery. Three fresh AA size batteries were completely depleted in less than an hour. It's easy to use but uses batteries. The batteries are fairly loose in the battery compartment and the rubber cover over the download and transfer ports is loose and doesn't fit properly. I would recommend saving up for a better rig in the $500 range or higher. It's also made in China, so the parts aren't high quality.
