mold grows. Customer service is rude.

Okay, say what you want to say about "coal tar". I believe the manufacturer is telling the truth that they use a different form of lab-made carbon that is not harmful. BUT the big problem is that this jug quickly becomes moldy on the plastic body. We have the third one, and every time for several weeks, like 4-5, in the filter chamber where you pour water, we start to see these weird yellow spots. They are very difficult to clean, mainly because you can't actually clean the inside of the filter area without the material to be cleaned getting into your filter, meaning you have to throw it away. I have contacted Lifestraw customer service many times but they have sent me insults and attitudes instead of offering me any help. They state that the product must be cleaned AFTER EVERY USE. that's a water filter, real. They also named me in our email thread after I complained that their replacement filter was late and asked them to resend it. Shipping took 5 weeks so we just ordered another set of pitchers from Revain. I really wanted to love this product as it has a glass carafe and the water tastes pretty good, but I would suggest a different carafe for your everyday needs.
