Advantages: 1. The quality is excellent. I hooked it up to a Mackbook Pro and the quality is the same as MBP which is hard to find these days. It comes with the right cables to connect my PS4, Switch and MBP without any problems (sort of).3. The price is really good for the quality. I think the key to keeping the price in check is the 60Hz refresh rate and lack of anything higher, but I don't play serious games on this monitor so that's not an issue for me. 4. No glare in backlit corners. A big problem with monitors is bleeding at the edges. Not yet. Cons: 1. The knob button just feels like a super cheat. I have seen old or new models with buttons at the bottom. I suspect they wanted more screen than clutter, but I have a feeling I'll break that by scrolling through the settings. Update: Macbook users! Read please! So there is a problem with external monitors and the new Macbook update. - Problem: You connect this monitor to your MacBook for the first time and it works. It doesn't work after hibernating or turning on again. This problem seems to be related to USB C to USB C only. I used the USB-C to HDMI female connector and then plugged the HDMI male into the mini HDMI male that came with the monitor and this setup worked great. The adapter was "Belkin" - Solution: You MUST use the AC adapter that came with the monitor. Yes, USB-C can carry video, audio, and power, but ignore that and just plug the monitor into its own power adapter. Also, your MacBook must be OPEN, not in clamshell mode, and with the power cord connected. So both devices need to be charged. After connecting it should work. If it doesn't, YOU MUST TURN ON THE LAPTOP and then wake it up and this should wake up the monitor. Now you can turn off the monitor and it will work fully with ONE USB cable connected to the laptop. To close the laptop and use it without a power supply both on the monitor and on the laptop, you need to download amphetamine. This is a program that makes external monitors work when your MacBook is closed. Without this program, the monitor will not work every time you close the Macbook.
