Okay, I'm admittedly put off by the fact that it's not touchscreen, given the Dragon's Touch name. The name with "touch" as a separate word implies that it must be a touch screen. It's like calling it "Dragon 4K" but not 4K. Frankly, this is deceptive. I think I knew this based on reviews but compared to another touch gaming monitor and may be confused about expectations. As far as gaming goes, I have no idea what makes this a "gaming" monitor. Of course, you can set up some pretty dark blacks in different modes, but from my understanding of gaming monitors, refresh rate and response time are key, which statistically puts this monitor squarely in the "completely non-gaming" zone. . 60Hz and 40ms? Serious? I've never heard of a monitor with such a poor response time. Might be a typo, but the same response time is quoted for their other products. I believe the word "games" was simply added to the search title. For work applications, however, I get a fairly sharp image when I use the external power supply that came with it. In order to increase the brightness or volume to over 70%, the manufacturer states that an external power supply unit must be used. This means that most of the predefined support modes or options will force the panel to reset to the lowest settings when running on USB-CI only. I'm not a fan of the magnetic flip lid/stand. It only seems to work in one position, and that tilts back quite a bit, so you'll need this at less than an arm's length. The thin edge created by folding back the end of the lid is just enough for it to snag on the underside of the panel, so I foresee this drop in the future. It has a Vesa mount, which is good, as well as a nice metal back with a quality finish. However, I personally don't have any options to use a Vesa mount on a portable monitor. I tested the HDMI+ power delivery on my Dell XPS 15 and it works great. It has an odd issue where it just goes completely black in some modes with a broken screen, which I'm still trying to figure out. I tested my MBP 2019 and encountered issues when using both USB-C ports. I've been looking for cable and connector replacements, of which the MBP has four Thunderbolt connectors. When connected to both the MBP and the power supply, it disables the signal. I'm about to return, but I've just found that it works with a different Thunderbolt port, so maybe this issue is actually me. As far as I know, Apple doesn't differentiate between these ports. If you just want a decent, seemingly well-made portable panel for work or school, browsing at your leisure, or watching videos, it's pretty good for a non-touch-only 4K option. Screen.
