Review on Rugged Ridge Winch Mounting Plate for Jeep Wrangler JK (2013-2018) - Stamped Bumper, Steel Construction by Fred Meeks

First off let me say this is a very solid winch plate and the paintwork was very good. Problems: There were no instructions in the box. Then I got instructions online, but they didn't fit my model. All my problems were with the vacuum pump. Everything else just turned out fine. Not enough space to use rubber isolation pads. You will need to remove them for the pump to fit. If you remove the pads and try to place the pump between your ears, the rib on the pump will prevent it from sitting straight. You will need to sand about 1/16 inch of the inside of the mounting stand (Photo 1). IF YOU DON'T DO THIS, DO YOUR PUMP. After that you need to make some washers that fit on the back of the pump as the washers they give you are too small for the hole in the pump after you remove the spacers. I cut some wing washers. Would they just tell you? the instructions and include some washers. You still have to cut the bracket off the frame, so it's not a big deal. But they make you spend hours trying to figure everything out on your own. But worst of all was Rough Ridge's customer service. I wanted to speak to them before giving feedback. I hate giving bad feedback. I tried the Revain link to contact the manufacturer and it doesn't work. Then I went to their website and tried to submit a support request. I haven't received an email to confirm my address. Keep telling me I need to verify my email address. Then I called. The first person was very rude to me. I asked for a supervisor and was detained for a long time. So I hung up and called back. I had another person who seemed to care and understood what the problem was. He created a support ticket and sent an email. I replied with photos but they never received them due to problems with their system. I call back and had to send them the photos. I had to call back (no one called me), they said they don't see any problems. They said they wear it every day and there are no problems. They then said that they never tested the JKU 2017. All they have to do is add to the instructions and add some pucks so others don't waste so much time and just don't care! I wanted to help, not just complain. I spent hours contacting them. UPDATE: The screws also started to rust within 2 weeks of installation. Changed my rating from 2 to 1 star.
