Review on 🦎 Maximize Reptile Comfort with VIVOSUN Upgrade Reptile Heat Mat and Digital Thermostat Combo by Julie Braaten

So firstly I like a real thermostat it's easy to read and easy to install and very accurate from what I've noticed. However, the heating pad leaves a lot to be desired. In the instructions for use it says that the goal is to reach the desired temperature in 5 hours. It took over 36 hours to get close to what I needed. I bought this for a Pacman frog with the expectation that it could take my 10 gallon tank from 70F to 80F using it on the side of the tank. The tank has a glass cover and is insulated. I feel the tank itself does an overall good job of maintaining temperature/humidity as I have used this setup in the past but with backlighting instead of heat mats. I have read the instructions and used them correctly. Initially, he could not get the temperature in the tank above 4 or more than room temperature. This heating pad was rated for 10-20 gallons. I've asked the company for advice and still haven't received a reply from them (it's been more than 4 days). With some help from the amphibian community I was able to tweak the settings to get the right temperature. I am disappointed with the lack of response from Vivosun. I would not use this particular item on a 20 gallon tank. If I had one too, I might use the next size up for one. Overall, I don't like the company's inability to answer my questions. I don't think this particular product should be rated for anything over a 5 gallon tank. I love the thermostat and I love that there is an option to buy it as a kit.
