Review on RV Designer E226 Self Closing Door Holder: T-Style, Stainless Steel, 6-Inch – Efficient Entry Door Hardware by Adam Roman

It worked, but not as well as it could.

I installed this but it was very difficult as the receiving part has some sort of spring that the latch has to push and lower to hold the latch in place when the door is open. This made it difficult for the bolt to easily slide into part of the receiver and also unlocking was just as difficult and the angle of the bolt didn't match the receiver as it has to be precise with the receiver spring to be pressed and the angle is perfect for the Job. I ended up cutting off the receiver's spring retainer and it worked a lot better and the door didn't even come close without the part I cut off and the latch was a lot easier to use. This is bad design in my opinion and should have been done better, but I got it to work. Wouldn't buy again. The T-Latch is a one piece bent piece to make a T-Latch instead of a solid T-Latch which would work better. From my last plastic on an old RV I had and sold I had the plastic and it worked much easier but I thought the metal version would last longer. Most likely it will last longer, but the holes are different and the plate is much larger than plastic. I like the spring-loaded "T" that keeps it down when not in use and can even help keep it in place during use by pushing down, so the spring-loaded receiver latch I cut off didn't is required.
