Review on Sasquash Commercial Stainless Smasher Smashed by Crystal Phillips

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Solid stainless steel, meant to last, polished so take care

Bought this to cook "Smash Burger Veggie Burgers" in a pan. No more red meat for me. When perfecting my veggie burger formula, I use it to smooth it out. I stopped grilling because I read about the carcinogenic chemicals made by the "fats" that drip into the fire and coat the food. I have stainless steel and cast iron skillets that are about 12" in diameter to use with this 'tool'. I will still use the A-1 sauce to flavor the veggie burger, but no more meat. I could make some chicken or turkey burgers to add to the veggies, but I'll have to see how they work. This tool has no coatings, it is all stainless steel and should be easy to clean. Breaking hamburgers is usually done in a pan, not on a grill, otherwise you'll lose the whole hamburger in the fire. I see that a small amount of olive oil is applied to the flat part of the tool to prevent it from picking up the hamburger chunks that you break up. I also see how a smash burger can fit between two tortillas and add some veggies like lettuce and tomatoes. Depends on how big a burger you make with this tool.

Pros
  • Only positive
Cons
  • Too long to wait
