Very durable and ideal for pickling.
Bought for marinating, not for storing food. Marinating works great. The aspirator initially pops out during the marinade cycle, but make sure you have some slack in the cord so it stays in during the parts where it breaks the vacuum. VERY solid construction and will not explode when using the FoodSaver. I don't see that, even if there was a defect in the container.
