The gloves are waterproof but their heat retention/insulation is very limited. High volume (if that makes sense) so in terms of utility I find them small - definitely not worth $55 Waterproofing is required in the Pacific winter as cold rain makes hands very cold, but they aren't warm enough for it to matter If I took the gloves off I would have cold wet hands , but no cold dry hands I have cold hands anyway!
