Good modem until I noticed the difference.

Good modem So far I haven't been able to tell any difference to my old Motorola Surfboard modem. I bought this modem due to a sudden packet loss on my network after Comcast came out to check the signal and what not. They said it was a modem but as usual it wasn't so I bought a cheap refurbished one just in case. and thank goodness I did it because the repair works perfectly and only cost me $30. Packet loss persists, but it's not the modem: Wireshark and various other network programs I've run have detected packet loss between the router and the border, and when I unplug the router it still happens, so it's on curb. See how it goes after Comcast rerouted the line: DA because of the heat issues people have been talking about, I made a fan on the side. Works perfect! Basically I can put it aside without hesitation, I have a lot of traffic so we'll see how it performs. I didn't see any interference from the fan at all, in case anyone is wondering how far the connection goes, it's exactly the same as the fan I pull shut on the side of it. Simply log into the modem to check for interference. You can also buy a fan for it, USB or other computer fan if you know about cables. Or you can always use google.
