Luckily the tool kit I received was manufactured correctly so the threads are properly aligned. The first thing to do with any puller is grease the threads. Then wrap the pieces on top of each other to squeeze out any metal shavings left over from manufacturing. This seems like common sense, but I didn't apply enough lube to begin with, so some of the threads wore out prematurely. However, the tool still worked well. I had to use an 18" socket wrench to apply enough torque to remove the pulley. This is difficult while holding the short handle on the puller body. I wish Lisle had designed it with a longer handle. Installation is easier. Here, too, make sure that all threads and the pump shaft are coated with sufficient grease. Overall, this set is much easier to use than my 3-arm puller. I can highly recommend this one.
