Although they work well for reducing a burn on a hot handle on my Lodge 10 1/2" griddle, they do not provide a firm grip when lifting the griddle. My hands are stiff with arthritis and do much better with a firm grip whereas, the silicone handle covers squirms a bit if not gripped tightly. Someone with a firm grip might not find this objectionable. The handle slips on snugly when cold over the widest portion of my griddle handle but unfortunately, there is a gap along the majority of the handle which accounts for the loss of firm grip.
