I came across a Denon MC103r at a good price and found I didn't have an MC phono stage on hand so ordered it to get by while I make other plans. To be honest I didn't expect it to work so well for the price. I was actually able to enjoy some of my favorite albums and it far exceeded my expectations. I'll move on to something higher eventually, but the urgency is gone as I'm really enjoying the sound quality of this little gem. I would give it four stars for overall quality in a real review, but at this price I have to give it five for exceptional value for money. For many this may be the last purchase to complete the player setup, it really is that good. It doesn't have the weight, power and overall sound quality of a much more expensive device, but it doesn't really lack it. It's much better than just "everything is fine", it's actually very, very good.
