Review on Whiskey Glasses Tumblers Drinking Chrismas by Monica White

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Unleash the aroma of your Whisk(e)y!

I first poured a good old Reserve, Glenlivet 12, into these glasses, and also a glass of Glencairn for comparison. It was immediately apparent that the nose is much sweeter in a glass of James Bentley than in a glass of Glencairn. I have to say the scent wasn't as strong as the Glencairn but what was there was much better. After taking my first sip, I immediately knew I had to try some of my other favorites I had: Ardebeg 10, Hibiki Harmony, Makers 46, and some variants of Balcones Lineage, Mirador, Texas 1 Single Malt, and True Blau. All have been greatly improved thanks to glass by James Bentley. Each had a seemingly richer nose, most likely due to the alcohol being less noticeable than when tasting it from a glass of Glencairn - and wow, I've never had so many Makers 46 maraschino cherries in my face. The swirl pattern feels great in the hand. Much easier to hold than the Glencairns and even better than the standard rock. The size is almost perfect for me. They appear a little light and flimsy, but as I'm very careful with glassware I don't see that as a problem. As much as I love my Glencairn glasses, I am afraid I will use them. these glasses are now becoming my favorite whiskey glasses.

Pros
  • MODERN UNIQUE DESIGN: Lightweight borosilicate glass inspired by nature. We created the JB whiskey glass with distillers and talented designers to revolutionize the design and experience of whiskey glasses; The double-walled design is engineered to keep ice longer by slowing the melting process and preventing condensation from reaching the outer surface of the glass.
Cons
  • Not everything fits
